Cyberpunk 2077 is reportedly going to have a slightly shorter story when compared to CD Projekt RED’s previous RPG opus – The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
“The main story run in Cyberpunk 2077 is slightly shorter than The Witcher 3,” said senior quest designer Patrick Mills (via Resetera). The news comes via the post-Night City Wire livestream panel where CD Projekt RED developers talked up the game with streamer CohhCarnage.
Mills added, “We got a lot of complaints about the Witcher 3’s main story just being too long, and looking at the metrics you see tremendous numbers of people played through that game really far, but never made it to the end.”
While you can blast through the main story in The Witcher 3 in under 40 hours by the general average with players, going through the main story and all of its optional content will easily take you hundreds of hours.

Cyberpunk 2077 is launching across Windows PC (via Steam, GOG, and Epic Games), PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on November 19th. The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X ports are coming sometime later.
