Yakuza: Like a Dragon

Sega have announced that Ryu go Gotoku Studio’s RPG Yakuza: Like a Dragon will be an Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S launch title.

RPG Site reports that Sega have announced the release date for the Xbox Series X platform, along with Xbox Series S. Based on the statement, it seems previously revealed release dates for other platforms have not changed; meaning the game releases in the west on Xbox Series X first.

You can find the full statement (via RPG Site) below.

“Following today’s Xbox Series S / X announcements, we wanted to share that Sega of America’s one-of-a-kind RPG, Yakuza: Like a Dragon, is coming to Xbox Series S and X on November 10, 2020, day and date with the start of the next generation of gaming hardware. Yakuza: Like a Dragon will also launch on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Windows 10 and PlayStation 5. Please stay tuned for more release information on all platforms in the coming weeks.”

The news comes after Microsoft announced the release date and price of the Xbox Series X; November 10th for $499 USD (ERP). Soon after, Ubisoft announced Assassin’s Creed Valhalla would be a launch title for the console, along with Xbox Game Studios’ Gears Tactics. Further, EA Play will be coming to Xbox Game Pass at no additional cost.

It should be noted at this time of writing, no statement has been made publicly via Sega or Ryu ga Gotoku Studio.

RISE LIKE A DRAGON

Ichiban Kasuga, a low-ranking grunt of a low-ranking yakuza family in Tokyo, faces an 18-year prison sentence after taking the fall for a crime he didn’t commit. Never losing faith, he loyally serves his time and returns to society to discover that no one was waiting for him on the outside, and his clan has been destroyed by the man he respected most.
Ichiban sets out to discover the truth behind his family’s betrayal and take his life back, drawing a ragtag group of society’s outcasts to his side: Adachi, a rogue cop, Nanba, a homeless ex-nurse, and Saeko, a hostess on a mission. Together, they are drawn into a conflict brewing beneath the surface in Yokohama and must rise to become the heroes they never expected to be.
