UPDATE: It has been discovered that the game will have a physical release (thanks @JPSWITCHMANIA). The Square Enix store shows a physical release for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4, both priced at $59.99 USD.

New information and a release date for Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory has been revealed during the surprise drop of the Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase.
The game is revealed to have a boss mode, where the characters automatically fight as you match hit the notes with the right timing. While the rhythm game shows the characters running along a path and fighting enemies, here the characters move around an arena.
Players can can also unlock music player tracks and cut-scenes from other Kingdom Hearts games, along with an exclusive chapter set after the events of Kingdom Hearts III. Players can also compete online one-on-on for high scores, and a local 8-player free for all exclusively on Nintendo Switch.

KINGDOM HEARTS Melody of Memory: In this musical experience from SQUARE ENIX set in the world of KINGDOM HEARTS, players will match the rhythm with good timing and cast powerful magic spells to attack enemies. A variety of modes are available in the game, including Memory Drive, which involves matching past scenes from memory, and Boss Battle, in which players square off against fearsome bosses with special attacks. Clearing stages rewards players with cinematics and musical scores so they can relive memorable scenes from their journey. In addition to local* and online** multiplayer battle modes, a new mode exclusive to the Nintendo Switch version of the game called Free-for-all features local multiplayer action for up to eight players.
