Marvel’s Avengers Beta Data-Miners Discover Twelve Heroes; Captain Marvel, She-Hulk, Black Panther, Winter Soldier, and More

Marvel’s Avengers

Data-miners of the Marvel’s Avengers beta may have uncovered twelve unrevealed free post-launch and DLC heroes coming to the game.

In earlier news, it was confirmed that Hawkeye was one of four free post-launch heroes. Spider-Man was later revealed to be coming exclusively to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.

Now, data-mining of the game’s beta may have revealed all the post-release heroes. As reported by Video Games Chronicle, Reddit user 6plus4equals52 and YouTuber Sanders Presents [1, 2] revealed their findings. 6plus hacked the game to give themselves more currency, which in turn revealed other “Hero Cards.”

These included Captain Marvel, She-Hulk, Kate Bishop (a female Hawkeye), War Machine, and Peter Parker. 6plus later revealed he had modified the PlayStation 4 build of the game. Others have speculated due to it the file calling him Peter Parker, that other Spider-Man characters will become available; such as Miles Morales.

Sanders’ video reveals several heroes are marked as “unlockable,” though this may mean that even if they are bought, players will need to unlock them with in-game currency or achieving certain progress in the story. Along with the above heroes, the other heroes include Ant-Man, Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Falcon, Mar-Vell, Mockingbird, Quake, Scarlet Witch, Vision, Wasp, and Winter Soldier.

This means while three other characters will be available post-launch for free (ignoring Spider-Man), the remaining twelve heroes will either be unlockable in game, or purchased as DLC. The data does not necessarily mean all the heroes are fully programmed, as this may be a way to future-proof the game when they are introduced.

Marvel’s Avengers is launches September 4th for Windows PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Google Stadia; and Holiday 2020 for PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X.
