Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne HD Remaster Features Dante from the Devil May Cry Series as DLC

Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne HD Remaster Dante

Atlus have announced that Dante will return as a guest boss in Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne HD Remaster as DLC.

Dante appeared as a boss in Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne Maniax, a director’s cut version which would become Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne in the west (Shin Megami Tensei III: Lucifer’s Call in PAL regions). Players could also eventually unlock him to join their party of Demons to use in battle.

In Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne Maniax Chronicle Edition, Dante was replaced him with Raidou Kuzunoha; the protagonist of the Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha series.

Now, Atlus has confirmed there will be a Maniax DLC pack (literal translation: Maniacs Pack), adding content from the Maniax version of the game. Players can start a new game in Maniax mode, and changing the title screen to the one in Maniax.

Toshiyuki Morikawa will reprise his voiced role as Dante. The announcement also notes “In this work, ‘Penetration effect’ is added to Dante’s skill ‘Swear in my father’s name.'” [Translation: Google Translate]

Whether the other additions added to Maniax will be in the base game is unclear. The Maniax Pack will cost ¥980 (estimated $9.02 USD). Curiously, the announcement notes the DLC “will be distributed from October 29th on the same day as the release of Shin 3 HD game software.”

Currently, the game is set to launch Spring 2021 in the west. As such, we may assume this will be the Japanese release date.
