Ubisoft have announced that Sam Fisher from Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell will be joining Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege.
Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell began in 2002, following agent Sam Fisher of the NSA black-ops sub-division Third Echelon. Players utilized stealth to take down terrorists and grand conspiracies. The last game was in 2013 with Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Blacklist. Ubisoft and Netflix recently announced a Splinter Cell anime was in production.
While the announcement on Ubisoft’s website does not reveal much, the in-character letter discussing Fisher (code name Zero) shows he has joined the team as “Rainbow Operational Staff (ROS),” but presumably will still be a playable character and teaching other specialists in more ways than one.
Lera Melnikova describes Fisher’s surveillance equipment as having “a flexibility of movement and behavior that can be used on the offensive as well as preparation for the defensive that is well suited to his inclination to take advantage of any situation.” This may be the only hint we have at how Fisher will play until launch.

The full reveal of the character shall be coming during the NA-Mini Major Finals on August 16th.
