Exclusive costumes and other in-game content for Marvel’s Avengers has been confirmed for PlayStation 4, along with promotional offers with Verizon, Intel, and 5 Gum.
In earlier news, it was confirmed that Spider-Man will be coming to Marvel’s Avengers as a free post-launch hero, exclusively on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. It was also revealed during earlier “War Table” livestreams [1, 2, 3] that PlayStation 4 also granted earlier access to the beta.
A recent trailer dubbed “PlayStation Advantage Video” also revealed that the PlayStation 4 version would have exclusive community challenges (exclusive until September 4th, 2021), and early access to Legendaty Outfits (“purchased by PlayStation users through in-game store” 30 days ahead of other platforms).
Further, internet service provider Verizon has announced they will offer beta access via their My Verizon app. However, this is not the only bonus offered. YouTuber JayShockblast revealed that those who gain access to the beta through Verizon also gain outfits. JackShockblast claims there are exclusive to the promotion through Verizon (as shown by a screenshot of the app’s screen).
Intel is also getting in on the action. As well as offering a chance for beta access to those who sign up for Intel Gaming Access, JackShockblast reveals, likely citing a leak on Reddit, that users will also get outfits.
The Reddit leak also theorized or speculated that the aforementioned Verizon costumes could have been in partnership with Virgin Media; a UK based telecom company. It is entirely possible that US ISP exclusive skins may be available through other partnerships in other countries.
Yet another promotional offer comes from Wrigley’s 5 Gum- with images of packaging appearing online. The packaging states “every pack unlocks in-game content.”
A Twitter fan account for the game claims the eight possible rewards include a Ms. Marvel nameplate, the Talisman of Spectacle legendary artifact (providing “a unique visual flourish that any player can show off!” based on the in-game statue of Captain America), 150 units of in-game currency, or a bubble-gum blowing emote for Kamala Khan.
Unlocking all 8 rewards nets players 50,000 Marvel Insider points, and exclusive 5 Gum PlayStation avatars and themes; “One for every Hero currently in the game at launch.”
It is unclear which promotional offers will remain exclusive forever, and which will be timed.
Marvel’s Avengers is launches September 4th for Windows PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Google Stadia; and Holiday 2020 for PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X.
