Netflix have announced they will be producing a feature length film adaptation of Ubisoft’s Beyond Good and Evil; most likely Beyond Good and Evil 2.
Details are scant at this stage, with only the tweet by Netflix at this time of writing. The promotional image used shows characters from Beyond Good & Evil 2.
Details on that game in recent years has also been quiet, leading to questions whether this Netflix series will promote the game, or be based on the exploits of the first Beyond Good & Evil. It should be noted that Beyond Good & Evil 2 is a prequel to the original game.
In earlier news, Ubisoft and Netflix announced they were working on a Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell anime; with writer and executive producer Derek Kolstad (John Wick). It seems after the run-away success of Castlevania and the live action The Witcher series (and on a separate note, the Sonic the Hedgehog movie), Netflix is looking to capitalize on video game adaptions.
We will keep you informed as we learn more.
