Microsoft have announced State of Decay 3 during the Xbox Games Showcase.
The third installment in the series, State of Decay 3 appears to continue the legacy of the open-world zombie survival series that began in 2013. In the first two games, players gather resources and fortify a home base in the midst of a zombie apocalypse
While no gameplay is shown in the announcement trailer, we do get the idea that State of Decay 3 will have a similar play cycle as the first two where players scavenge and explore a zombie-ravaged world for supplies.
In the trailer, we see a zombie deer feasting on the carcass of a wolf which elaborates on the danger players will experience. Nothing is safe and even a skittish fawn can be a violent vector for undeath.
State of Decay 3 is coming soon to Xbox Series X. It is worth mentioning that both State of Decay and State of Decay 2 were released on Windows PC as well.
