Corpse Party: Blood Drive Related Announcement Teased

Corpse Party: Blood Drive

The official twitter account for the Corpse Party series has made its first new posts since 2018, most likely teasing an upcoming announcement related to Corpse Party: Blood Drive.

The first tweet stated “I’m sorry” (Translation: Google Translate, though this can be translated as “I’m home” or “I’m back“), accompanied by the above picture (along with hashtags for the series). After this, another tweet shifted tone.

“Nice to meet you [Waving hand emoji]
I’m ‘Miku’ who goes to Kisaragi school [Sunflower emoji]

I was disappointed with all the online classes, so I tried Twitter for the first time!
Nice to meet you all [heart emoji]”

(Translation: Google Translate, adjusted)

As seen in the top left of the image, the announcement is likely related to Corpse Party: Blood Drive. Curiously, that game did not feature a character called Miku attending Kisaragi Academy (formed of Kisaragi Academy Senior High and Kisaragi Academy Junior High School).

Across Corpse Party media, a character called Miku Sensu does appear (from the manga Corpse Party CEMETERY0 ~The Genesis of Ars Moriendi~). However, she attends the Tendo Girls’ Senior High School. As such, it is likely this is a different Miku, possibly a character only meant for promotion on Twitter.

It is likely the announcement is teasing an upcoming port of Corpse Party: Blood Drive to modern consoles, or a direct sequel to that game. However, Blood Drive was a sequel to Corpse Party: Book of Shadows, and the end of the “Heavenly Host Elementary School” trilogy.

While the game had a Windows PC and Nintendo Switch release in the west, it did not in Japan. There is a chance this means the game is getting a release in Japan on those platforms. The use of this Miku character could imply a new version adding new characters (again, assuming it is not purely for promotion).

There is also a slim chance the image was from that game, and is being used purely for promotional purposes for a new piece of media.

We will keep you informed as we learn more.

Corpse Party: Blood Drive is available on Windows PC (via Steam), Nintendo Switch, PlayStation Vita, Android, and iOS.
