Animal Crossing: New Horizons Free Summer Update Wave 1 Adds Swimming, Diving, and Sea Creatures

Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Nintendo have announced the next free update coming to Animal Crossing: New Horizons, adding swimming, diving, sea creatures to find, and more.

From July 3rd, players will be able to swim in the waters around their island, and even dive down to find sea-creatures, which can be donated to the Museum.

Players will also be able meet Pascal. In prior games, he offered pirate themed furniture in exchange for scallops. Here, it appears he gives DIY recipes for mermaid and shell-themed furniture. Gulliver will also be sporting pirate-themed clothes, though whether his behavior has changed was not revealed.

The update is part of “Wave 1” for the summer, while the next update will be coming in early August. Elements of the update sound similar to those in a leak from a data-miner in April.
