KonoSuba: Love This Desirable Costume! Announced, Launches in Japan September 24 for PS4 and Switch

KonoSuba: Love This Desirable Costume!

Mages have announced KonoSuba: Love This Desirable Costume! (Translation: Google Translate) for Japan, a visual novel for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4.

As previously reported, KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on this Wonderful World! began as a novel series in 2012 by author Natsume Akatsuki. KonoSuba follows Kazuma Satou, a shut-in who initially lives in modern day Japan.

After meeting an untimely death, he is given the opportunity to reincarnate in a fantasy world by the goddess Aqua. After being allowed to choose some manner of powerful ability, Kazuma chooses to have the goddess herself accompany him on his journey, much to her dismay.

Kazuma is then joined by the explosion magic obsessed mage Megumin, and the masochistic crusader Darkness. Together the party end up in numerous hi-jinks and mayhem as they try to complete quests to earn money.

According to Famitsu and the official website* (Translation: Google Translate), the story revolves around a black slab the party discovers that can create clothes. Royal Prosecute Sena charges Kazuma with theft, and warns him that the slab will “make his desires the opposite.”

Editor’s Note: Reader discretion is advised on the Japanese official website link, due to certain images of a sexual nature.

Kazuma soon finds the girls’ personalities are completely inverted. Darkness is now a sadist, Megimin is embracing “lolita supremacy” and launching the “lolita alliance”, and Aqua has become tidy and more goddess-like.

This visual novel game tasks Kazuma with making magical clothes using the tablet to satisfy the girl’s desires. This will break the curse, but it must be done within a set number of days. Players must gather materials through quests, and purchase some of the more expensive ones via the money they earn.

Players assign part-time jobs the party will undertake over four days, then relax at the mansion on the fifth (interacting with the party and residence at the city) before it appears the party try to wear the new clothes on the sixth.

It appears the party’s personality may be restored to complete those jobs, implying the curse may repeat on a specific day (and something terrible happening should the girls refuse to wear magic clothes on that day). Along with Sena; Wiz, Yunyun, Eris, and Vanir will appear, and will be fully voiced by the cast from the anime.

The game will have a limited in Japan with the game’s soundtrack and special costumes for the girls, and a “shooting game” DLC. Purchasing from certain stores in Japan will also net players other in-game costumes, and lewd posters.

The game’s full title is Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku o! ~ Kono yokubō no ishō ni chōai o!~; or A Blessing to this Wonderful World! ~ Give love to this desire costume! ~ in English (Translation: Google Translate).
