Octodad Creator Announces Bugsnax, Launches Holiday 2020

Bugsnax

Young Horses have announced Bugsnax for Windows PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 during PlayStation’s New Future of Gaming presentation.

As stated in the press release (via email) and the PlayStation Blog, the game comes from the creators of Octodad: Dadliest Catch, and continues with its bizarre tone.

The game is a narrative-driven adventure, where the player is a journalist invited by disgraced explorer Elizabert Megafig to uncover the mysteries of Snaktooth Island- home of the titular Bugsnax; half-bug, half-snack.

The game will feature the voices of of Mac Mittelman (One Punch Man) as Filbo Fiddlepie, Helen Sadler as Elizabert Megafig, and Tom Taylorson (the garbled voice of Octodad) as the Snax (including in the trailer above). The game also promises over a dozen professional voice actors in the fully voice acted game.

The game also features an original track (It’s Bugsnax!) by British indie pop band Kero Kero Bonito. On PlayStation 5, the DualSense controller will allow you to feel the change in vibrations based on the terrain underfoot, the triggers tensing as traps snap shut, and the speakers providing chirps from the Bugsnaks.
