Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Warzone, and Mobile Seasons Postponed due to George Floyd Death and Aftermath

Call of Duty

The launch of Season 4 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019), Call of Duty: Warzone, and Season 7 of Call of Duty: Mobile have been postponed, due to the aftermath of the death of George Floyd.

The announcement came via the official Twitter account for the franchise. For those of you relying on machine translation, their message reads as follows.

“While we look forward to playing the new seasons of Modern Warfare, Warzone and Call of Duty: Mobile, now is not the time.

We are moving the launches of Modern Warefare Season 4 and Call of Duty: Mobile Season 7 to later dates.

Right now it’s time for those speaking up for equality, justice and change to be seen and heard.

We stand alongside you.”

The statement comes amid the protests and subsequent riots across the US over the death of George Floyd. This has also resulted in delays and postponements by PlayStation and EA Sports.

Many other US companies and organizations have offered their support of Black Lives Matter at this time. As such, it is entirely possible the other presentations and showcases currently set for June could be cancelled.

We will keep you informed as we learn more.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019) is available on Windows PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

Call of Duty: Warzone is free to play, and available on Windows PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
