War of Ashird Kickstarter Reaches Third Stretch Goal, Crowdfunds over $100,000

War of Ashird

Igrasil Studio have announced that the Kickstarter campaign for tactical JRPG War of Ashird has reached its third stretch goal, after achieving $100,000.

We had previously reported how Kumiho Soft had cancelled their Kickstarter with the intention to relaunch it. The reason was not elaborated upon, other than “mistakes” being made early in the project, which would be difficult to fix while the crowdfunding progressed.

The Kickstarter was later relaunched, being fully funded within 12 hours. The campaign initially just had three stretch goals, with more to be revealed later. These included a bonus location, expanding the castle management system, and implementing a crafting system.

The third and final goal was reached so fast, the developers admit they were not prepared for an announcement!

“Our campaign has already raised over $100 000!

Admittedly, you surprised us with how fast we were able to reach our 3rd stretch goal—so much so, in fact, that we didn’t even have an update ready for the occasion! We’d like to thank all of our backers for their support so far, whether it was by telling others about the project or simply believing in us enough to pledge; without your help, War of Ashird wouldn’t be possible.”

The announcement detailed some the new stretch goals. At $110,000 USD, the four maids the player can choose from to help run their castle will also have their own story and character events. “This will not only make them more interesting, but also incentivize repeat playthroughs; after all, you can only pick one girl each time!”

In addition, as many backers had been asking about a physical version of the Wonderland of Ashird artbook by Satchely, that it is now in the works. “While this has always been one of our planned rewards, we wanted to be careful due to the ongoing pandemic and possible distribution issues.”

Now that the War of Ashird campaign is going so well, however,” the post explains, “we are confident enough to announce that we will add a physical artbook as a reward and add-on once we reach Our Chinese Manager, Weiss Tang, is already in talks with factories to find the best price-quality ratio—and we will inform you of the expected price in our next update.”

Finally the announcement revealed that those who donated to the $39 USD tier or higher would also be getting a Steam key for Igrasil Studio’s Bloody Chronicles: New Cycle of DeathThe £39 tier also includes a digital copy of War of Ashird, a digital artbook, a backer roll on the game’s Discord server, and HD wallpaper.

You can find the full rundown of the stretch goals (via the campaign’s description) beyond the $100,00 tier below.

$110 000 We will add new events for the player’s personal maid.

$120 000 3 new generic units: Spearman, Rogue, and Pathfinder.

$135 000 2 additional playable characters.

$145 000 – 10 hidden items for observant players to discover.

$170 000 A Demonic Route in New Game+, allowing players to join the Demon King’s army. This mode is more sandbox-like than the others, without a proper story. Can you rise to power, crush the other 3 nations, and become the next Demon King?

$190 000 – A prologue chapter set during the Reign of the Demon King, where you play as Kazutora Anegakouji and experience important events in the world’s history.”

As of this time of writing, the Kickstarter has raised $105,112 out of its $31,500 goal. You can find the full rundown (via press kit) below.

Description

War of Ashird is a unique game that combines all the elements of SRPG and the elements of managing your castle. The story focus on a young boy who, by a twist of fate, becomes a key player in the war between three powerful nations: the Prisean Empire, the Kingdom of Ceredia, and the Free Cities’ Alliance. From his humble beginnings, our hero will rise in rank through his mighty deeds on the battlefield—until he commands an army of his own.
Your choices will shape his destiny, and the future of the Ashird as well…

Features
A unique hybrid of grid-based and turn-based combat: We play quite a few RPGs ourselves, so we know how important it is that the battles are exciting and feel unique! To accomplish this, War of Ashird uses a combination of systems: Normal battles are grid-based, with up to 7 characters engaging an enemy army. When fighting a boss, laying siege to a castle, or conquering new territory, however, the game uses a turn-based battle system with three party members instead.

‍A world full of possibilities: You can visit 20 cities, each with their own story, character events, and guild quests. By exploring all of them, maybe you’ll uncover some mysteries…?

A wide cast of playable characters: Interact with over 20 unique characters, each with their own events, personalities, and skills.

‍Own land and become lord of a castle: Who wouldn’t want to be master of their own domain—and who wouldn’t want to expand it further? But wait… if you have a castle, you’ll need a helpful maid to take care of it! As your rank rises in Ceredia, you’ll get your own land, a castle, and one of four lovely servants.

Forge your own story: You can decide how to finish certain tasks and missions, which will shape your character as the game goes on. Are you going to protect your kingdom, or are you going to destroy it—along with everything else? The choice is yours.

War of Ashird launches 2021 on Windows PC (via Steam), and 2022 on Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4.
