Summer Game Fest organizers and Double Fine have announced a Developer Showcase in June and July, dubbed Day of the Devs.
The presentations will not only be provided by The Game Awards organizers (as other livestreams for Summer Game Fest have been), but by Double Fine. Developers can submit their games for the presentation via the official website.
Double Fine also note that iam8bit will be presenting the digital event. The creative production company had announced they had pulled out of E3 2020. Though a reason was never given, this was prior to the coronavirus pandemic.
The Summer Game Fest and many other digital conferences have acted as a surrogate to E3 2020, after it was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The ongoing coronavirus pandemic (also known as COVID-19 officially, or Chinese Flu to others) has affected many worldwide, from businesses to public gatherings and events.
This includes postponements of GDC, the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, the physical events for EVO 2020 and Tokyo Game Show 2020, and cancellations E3 2020 (including digital events), the physical event for Gamescom 2020, Comiket 98, and MAGStock 2020.
We also reported the Fairy Tail JRPG to July 30th in Europe and July 31st in North America, and Japan finally re-opening theaters after Japan’s state of emergency begins to soften.
The Johns Hopkins Whiting School of Engineering are mapping the virus’ spread [1, 2]. As of this time of writing, there have been over 5.244 million total confirmed cases worldwide, and over 2.830 million active cases. There have been over 338,000 deaths, however over 2.076 million people have made a “total recovery.”
