2K Games and Hangar 13 have teased Mafia: Trilogy, though the nature of the games as remakes may have also been leaked.
Having been teased on the series’ official Twitter account [1, 2, 3], the official teaser has now been revealed. The full reveal will come 9 a.m. PT / 12 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. BST. The game appears to involve 2K Games and Hangar 13, and seems to launch on Windows PC (via Epic Games Store, and Steam), PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
You can find the teaser trailer below.
In addition, a listing for Mafia: Definitive Edition has been discovered (thanks Escapist!). A listing on the Microsoft Store (archived here) shows the game’s release date, and that it is “Part one of the Mafia crime saga.” It also reveals the game is a remake.
Whether this means that all three games will launch on that date, or if the games will be available separately from one another is unknown. Those who buy Mafia: Definitive Edition will unlock “Tommy’s Suit and Cab in both Mafia II and Mafia III Definitive Editions.”
The use of “Definitive Editions” would seem to indicate all three games will be remakes. For example, Mafia III was launched in 2016 on Windows PC, Mac, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. As such, there may be less need to remake the game as oppose to remaster it (if that).
You can find the full rundown on Mafia: Definitive Edition (via Microsoft Store) and screenshots below.
