WB Games Reportedly Planned to Reveal New Batman, Harry Potter, and Rocksteady Games at E3 2020

Kotaku reports that Warner Bros. Games (also known as WB Games) had planned to reveal new games at the now cancelled E3 2020. These included Batman, Harry Potter, and a new title from Rocksteady Games.

Speaking on Twitter, Kotaku’s News Editor Jason Schreier tweeted “Warner Bros. Games was planning to do an E3 press conference this year for the first time, to talk about Batman, Harry Potter, and Rocksteady’s game among others. Remains to be seen what they’ll do now”.

Elaborating in an article on Kotaku, Schreier cited “three people familiar with the publisher’s plans.” Schreier was unable to verify what WB Games would be doing in light of the cancellation.

“This year, a newcomer planned to enter the field. Warner Bros. Games was preparing to host an E3 press conference for the first time, according to three people familiar with the publisher’s plans. There, WB Games had planned to talk about a number of much-anticipated games including a new Batman, a Harry Potter game that had leaked in 2018, and the next game from Arkham developers Rocksteady Studios. It remains to be seen whether Warner Bros. will instead hold its own digital event or do something else entirely.”

While the Harry Potter game leak relied on two off-screen photos, Warner Bros. Games Montreal had teased a new Batman game in September 2019. A reveal around this time would have been logical.

In earlier news; Microsoft, and Devolver Digital have also announced they would be hosting their own live-stream events in light of E3 2020’s cancellation. Ubisoft announced they would be exploring other options for a digital experience.”

It stands to reason that if WB Games had a live-stream planned, that it will be broadcast at a later date. If a live conference was planned, a live presentation or pre-recording of a presentation will need to be produced. This is true of numerous developers and publishers however.
