Granblue Fantasy: Versus Launches March 27 in Europe and Australia, Cancels Physical Premium Edition for Europe

Granblue Fantasy: Versus

Marvelous Games have announced the European and Australian release date for Granblue Fantasy: Versus, along with the cancellation of the physical Premium Edition for Europe.

While the exact reason was not detailed, Marvelous Europe Limited’s PR & Community Manager Scott Emsen explained it was due to “ongoing time constraints and production issues.” You can find the full statement (via Twitter) below:

“In order to ensure a timely release of Granblue Fantasy: Versus we have made the difficult decision to cancel the physical Premium Edition. The reason for this cancellation is due to ongoing time constraints and production issues with the physical Premium Edition.

We know that a lot of Granblue Fantasy fans are eager for this physical Premium Edition and, as fans ourselves, it is with deep regret that we will not be able to produce this edition for Europe. We would like to apologise to those affected and we thank you for your continued support with Granblue Fantasy: Versus.”

As detailed in our prior coverage, the physical Premium Edition will contain the game, soundtrack CD, art book, a code for a PlayStation 4 theme and avatar set, and the Color Pack Bundle DLC (Color Pack Sets 1, 2, and 3), all the within an art box for MSRP $79.99. It will still be available for the US.

While it may be easy to speculate this being yet another company affected by the coronavirus, there would be no reason not to mention it if that were the case.

We are also seeing unconfirmed reports that the price of the Premium Edition in other regions has increased. We have reached out to XSEED for comment.

Marvelous Games also announced the standard physical edition is available for pre-order from selected retailers across Europe, and Australia. You can find the full details here.
