The MMO action-rpg is set in the Magic the Gathering universe still keeps some of its trading card game roots, with the official website noting “Strategically choose the spells in your spell library because they’ll be drawn at random as you fight,” and “Discover a myriad of spells and collect spell fragments to make them more powerful.”

GameInformer‘s coverage further reveals the game will be free to play, and details the aforementioned spell system. “Build a deck of 12 cards that constantly cycle, with 4 active cards and a slew of handy abilities to smash your way through endless monsters and maps.” They also revealed the game would be free-to-play.

In addition, two of the game’s classes were also revealed on the website- the Mind Mage, and the Geomancer. Both of these classes were elaborated more on GameInformer. The official website notes three other classes yet to be revealed.

Editor’s Note: The gameplay footage of the Mind Mage has not been made available on GameInformer’s YouTube channel.

The Mind Mage is described (by GameInformer) as “a ranged class loadout that specializes in crowd control.” It also has methods of escape by creating a doppleganger. The official website also states the Mind Mage can turn foes against one another.

The Geomancer on the other hand is more about matter-over-mind. Encasing their limbs in stone and magma, GameInformer describes how the class specializes in attacking foes up-close and personal, and even use swirling lava to draw foes closer. Along with rock shields and drawing foes in, the official website describes how the class can also call on other creatures to fight with them, such as goblins, kavu, and earth elementals.

Finally, GameInformer revealed the game’s release date.
