Major League Baseball, the Major League Baseball Players Association, Sony Interactive Entertainment, and Sony Interactive Entertainment San Diego Studio have announced a new contract to develop and publish more MLB The Show games.
The new multi-year extension will let Sony and their San Diego Studio produce more games in the series, however, this is the first time they’ll be developing games for non-PlayStation platforms. The next MLB The Show game for a non-Sony platform can be coming as early as 2021.
Other platforms haven’t been confirmed yet, however Microsoft and Nintendo have both retweeted the news with their own comments.
Sony Interactive Entertainment has been developing officially licensed Major League Baseball games for over twenty years, so this will be the first time an official The Show game will be released outside PlayStation in over two decades.
