The latest Japanese sales numbers (via Famitsu) have confirmed Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield sold quite a bit at retail in Japan.
In total the games sold 1,364,544 copies at retail within the first three days of release in Japan, and that figure includes physical copies, download cards, and the Double Pack – but not digital sales.
Coming from this, Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield sold more than even Super Smash Bros. Ultimate in Japan, which sold 1.23 million units during its opening week.
Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield are now available for Nintendo Switch. In case you missed it, you can find our thorough review for the games here.
