Microids have announced Blacksad: Under the Skin has launched early in Europe due to a “technical malfunction”.
Speaking on Twitter, Microids issued a statement warning users in Europe that this early launch of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions would not have the day one patch needed to fix issues with frame-rate, audio-glitches, and major bug fixes. They highly recommend waiting for this patch on the game’s official release.
Originally planned for a November 14 release, Blacksad: Under the Skin is available as of today on the PlayStation Store and the Xbox Market due to a technical malfunction.
In order to enjoy the game at its fullest, this version of the game requires an update via a downloadable patch. The patch coming up later these days for the PS4 and Xbox One versions will bring required enhancements to the frame rate as well as fixes for major bugs and missing music (find more details about the patch below).
Before diving in the adventure of Blacksad: Under the Skin, we strongly advise waiting for this patch as we feel it’s essential to experience the game like the development team at Pendulo Studios envisioned it.
Please note that the November 14 date will see the release of the PS4 and Xbox One boxed edition of the game, as well as the PC version on Steam. The Nintendo Switch version will be released on November 28.
The teams at Microids and Pendulo Studios are hard at work providing everyone with the best experience possible in a timely manner. As per usual, we will be paying major attention to your feedback in the upcoming weeks. Other patches will be published progressively to enhance the experience even further. We would like to thank the community for your incredible support since the project announcement.”
For everyone else, Blacksad: Under the Skin will be releasing on Windows PC (via Steam), PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in Europe on November 14th, with a Nintendo Switch version coming November 28th. North Americans can expect the game on December 10th across all platforms.
