Blizzard President J. Allen Brack Apologizes for Blitzchung Controversy, Says “We Moved Too Quickly” in Decision Making

Just prior to this year’s BlizzCon, Blizzard president J. Allen Brack addressed the crowd and apologized for their handling of the Blitzchung controversy.

“We moved too quickly in our decision-making and then, to make matters worse, we were too slow to talk with all of you,” said Brack. “We didn’t live up to the high standards we set for ourselves.”

Brack was speaking of their punishment of Hearthstone professional player Chung “Blitzchung” Ng Wai, who voiced his support of the Hong Kong protests after a tournament match.

Brack added, “Blizzard had the opportunity to bring the world together in a tough Hearthstone esports moment about a month ago and we did not.. I’m sorry and I accept accountability.”
