Bandai Namco has released a new trailer for Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot.
The trailer details the story, gameplay, and more. In addition, new information was revealed. First, some classic Dragon Ball characters such as Android 8, Nam, and Launch are shown to be coming back as part of the game’s sidequests and dialogue.
The trailer also emphasizes that since the game is an action-RPG rather than a player versus player game, bosses and enemies can be much stronger than Goku, better matching the fights in the anime and manga where Goku seems outmatched at first. Battles will also not utilize invisible walls or barriers, letting characters go flying into the distance and into the scenery.
The player can also explore the world, hunt, and cook. However, the trailer emphasizes it is not a true open-world game, as being able to “go anywhere and fight anyone, anytime” would go against the original story.
