Full Release for Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord is “Not Going to be Years, Hopefully”

When Taleworlds Entertainment announced the early access release for Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord, fans couldn’t believe it. I still can’t believe it, to be honest. Now, Taleworlds has talked up the game’s development roadmap, and said they hope to finish the game – sooner rather than later.

Taleworlds founder Armagan Yavuz discussed the game’s early access release, and said while the game is mostly feature complete, there’s still lots to do: bug fixes, further polish, and so on.

“It’s difficult to really pronounce any specific thing,” Taleworlds founder Armagan Yavuz said of the game’s early access release to PCGamesN.

He added, “but it’s not going to be years, hopefully. We just want to make sure that the game is reasonably polished and balanced, and we’re happy, and we’ll be able to say that ‘ok, now we’re ready.’”

The 2012-announced game has been in various stages of development, with the first gameplay being shown four years after its first teaser trailer – in 2016. The game will definitely need as much player feedback as possible, so that its full release makes its playerbase happy.

“We have pretty much all of the features figured out and everything working, but we can’t really control all the millions of different combinations of how things play out with each other and what happens when different features combine or different paths play out in the game,” Yavuz said.

“In order to really balance the game and make everything click with each other, we thought that it would be so much better if we just did an early access,” he added.

Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord is launching for Windows PC via Steam Early Access, in March 2020.
