Cortex Command Goes Open Source, Gets LAN Support

Data Realms have announced a big new update for their 2D action-strategy game, Cortex Command.

Originally conceived as a passion project in high school, Cortex Command released on Steam back in 2012 and proved to be a cult hit that still has a dedicated fanbase of players and community modders to this day.

To help facilitate future community development, Data Realms have released the game’s source code. They’ve also added an experimental LAN mode. You can read all the details here.

Cortex Command is available on Windows PC and Mac via Steam for $19.99.
