When Nintendo properly revealed Animal Crossing: New Horizons, many fans wondered how many new features were in the game. One new feature is autosave, and it has left a certain infamous mole jobless.
A new interview with New Horizons director Aya Kyogoku and Mashable has confirmed the game finally has autosave – meaning the forever annoying Mr. Resetti is now unemployed.
“I think this will be a positive thing for the player, because in New Horizons you can stop playing in the middle of your game and it’ll still save,” says Kyogoku.
“But unfortunately because there’s no necessity to reset the game or reset button on the Switch, Mr. Resetti had a hard time. He was laid off from his position.”
In previous games, Mr. Resetti would come to yell at you for awhile if you shut the game down without saving it first. His role was lessened in later games like Animal Crossing: New Leaf, where he’d only appear after you built a certain public works project.
Despite his unemployment, it sounds like Mr. Resetti will find a new job in the game after all.
“We also believe that Mr. Resetti is looking for a new job after his layoff. So please look forward to that,” Kyogoku added.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is launching for Nintendo Switch on March 20th of 2020.
