Square Enix is Prepping for Development on Dragon Quest XII

Square Enix held an event to reveal Dragon Quest Walk tonight, but after the reveal for their smartphone spinoff the studio also teased work on the next mainline game.

Dragon Quest series executive producer Yuu Miyake teased that while Dragon Quest XII isn’t officially announced yet, he said both Yuji Horii and himself are currently making preparations on the series, which will connect to XII.

Furthermore, he said it’s still too early to reveal the game, but they want to announce it, so please wait a bit longer.

The Switch port for the latest game in the series, Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age Definitive Edition, is launching for Switch sometime this fall.

The original Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age is now available for Windows PC and PlayStation 4. In case you missed it, you can find our extremely thorough review for the game here (we absolutely loved it!).
