Marvelous: Rune Factory 5 Won’t Release Before April 2020, Company Discusses Restrictions on Sexual Content

Marvelous has confirmed Rune Factory 5 won’t release for some time.

The company said the latest in their fantasy RPG / farming simulation franchise won’t release before April 2020 – news confirmed (via @mochi_wsj) in their latest financial results briefing.

Marvelous noted development on the sequel has just begun, and they’re looking to hopefully release the game in the next fiscal year (which runs from April 1st, 2020 to March 31st, 2021).

As per our previous report, the company is considering a new entry in the Story of Seasons series, for consoles.

Lastly, Marvelous commented on the sexual themes in their games, noting they are “getting more difficult to produce.” They noted a sexual element had to be removed from a currently unannounced game, to which they’ve lowered the game’s sales forecast.
