The latest Famitsu (via Ryokutya2089) has confirmed the release date for Ys IX: Monstrum Nox.
The latest in the Falcom-developed RPG series is launching on September 26th in Japan, for PlayStation 4. The news also comes with some new details for the game.
Featured above, we’ve gotten the first look at series protagonist Adol Christin, who is noticeably older in the game. The screenshot was posted earlier, however we now know this is Adol – with new hair that is a mix of black and blue. Reportedly, Adol is a cooler/smoother character now, and is a wanted suspect after an unspecified incident – only to be jailed in Baldeux, the prison city.
Adol’s companion, Dogi, returns and has an active role in almost the entire story. Dogi is also older and more collected now. A new supernatural ability, “Way of the King – Crimson Line,” was also revealed. This allows the user to teleport around, and even go through thick walls. You can also reportedly teleport directly towards enemies in battle.
