Hideo Baba Leaves Square Enix

Square Enix has announced (via Famitsu) that Hideo Baba has departed the company.

Baba was president of their newer subsidiary team Studio Istolia, and had been known before as the producer on the Tales of series. He left Studio Istolia at the end of December of last year and Square Enix proper at the end of last month.

Baba joined Square Enix in October of 2016 to launch the aforementioned Studio Istolia, which later fully revealed their first titleProject Prelude Rune.

“With the changes in Studio Istolia’s management policies, I have resigned as the company’s president at the end of December of last year, and resigned from Square Enix as of the end of March of this year,” Baba said in a press release.

“Thank you again to Square Enix Group for giving me a variety of experiences. I will keep supporting everyone from behind the scenes, and I sincerely hope for the future growth and development of Square Enix Group.”
