Square Enix has announced Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent.
The new free-to-play single-player spinoff is coming to iOS and Android devices sometime this year in Japan. Featured above, you can view the reveal trailer for the game.
The game is set several years before the events of Octopath Traveler (for Switch), and is set in the same Orsterra universe.
Fans can expect the same HD-2D visuals the original game is notable for, eight character battles with command-based combat, a story that changes up between three champions, and field commands as well. Pre-registration is currently available via the game’s official website.
Square Enix also teased a new console game for the series – you can read more about that here.
The original Octopath Traveler is out now on Switch. In case you missed it, you can find our thorough review here. (We highly recommend it!)
