Darkest Dungeon II Announced

Red Hook Studios has announced Darkest Dungeon II.

The game is coming to Windows PC, and brings with it some changes from the original game. The news comes alongside a teaser trailer, which you can view above.

Some tidbits of details for the game came from an interview (via PCGamer), including a “significant tune-up” to the returning combat system, a “completely different metagame structure,” and a focus on “enduring a grueling journey,” while “not cleaning up your backyard.”

“We’re giving players a glimpse of the supernatural apocalypse twisting and distorting the world beyond the estate… and that’s all we’re going to say about that for now.” Red Hook Studios said regarding the sequel.

In terms of how the game will be initially released, the developer said the sequel is “still very appropriate for an Early Access type approach,” despite the “massive differences in structure” from the original to its sequel.
