After several large-scale lay-offs and being unable to finish their The Walking Dead series, Telltale Games have filed for liquidation, and their games may even be removed from Steam.

Technically, the company is going through assignment proceedings (similar to bankruptcy), and is being handled by Sherwood Partners. The documentation for it can be found here via Scribd, signed by CEO Pete Hawley on October 11th 2018.

Documentation has also appeared via Game Daily, a letter to creditors and shareholders dated November 11th. In it, it asks that that anyone with a claim against Telltale’s assets must present proof before April 9th, 2019.

In addition, an anonymous former Telltale employee told Game Daily that the post-employment health insurance (COBRA) will stop for all former eligible staff on November 30th, 2018.

COBRA insurance must be provided by employers in the United States, with employees paying into it. The insurance usually lasts 18 months, or (in this case) end sooner when liquidation occurs.

Some Telltale Games are even being removed from Steam. At this time of writing Tales of Monkey Island are no longer on the Steam Store. Game Daily also ascertains that Back to the Future was also removed, but we have been able to access it right here.
