Command & Conquer, Command & Conquer: Red Alert Getting Official Remasters by Former Devs

Electronic Arts has announced they’re remastering both the original Command & Conquer and its prequel, Command & Conquer: Red Alert.

While the franchise was unfortunately gone when EA shuttered the legendary Westwood Studios, former developers started a new studio – Petroglyph Games. This studio is now handling the remasters of the games they originally developed over two decades ago.

The games will be fully remastered in 4K high definition, and will include their respective expansions, and it’s worth mentioning there will be no microtransactions either. Original composer Frank Klepacki is on board, as well as co-creator Joe Bostic, lead programmer Steve Tall, audio engineer Mike Legg, and more.

The Command & Conquer series holds a special place in my heart – at least the original titles developed by Westwood Studios. Perhaps these remasters will lead to proper sequels in the future?
