Warcraft III Remaster “Warcraft III: Reforged” Announced, Launches in 2019

Blizzard Entertainment has announced a remaster for Warcraft III.

The new remaster of the legendary real-time strategy game is titled Warcraft III: Reforged, and it’s launching sometime next year – news confirmed at this year’s BlizzCon. Featured above, you can view the cinematic reveal trailer for the new version of the classic RTS.

The game will feature totally remodeled characters and environments, as well the game’s robust World Editor, which pioneered the MOBA genre with the creation of the original Defense of the Ancients map.

Here’s a gameplay trailer:

Originally released back in 2002, Warcraft III raised the bar for the real-time strategy genre, and is still played to this day. It led to the creation of their wildly popular MMORPG, World of Warcraft.

Here’s a look at the game’s playable demo, which is available to attendees of BlizzCon this year:

Lastly, it’s worth mentioning pre-orders for the game are now live. They include the “Spoils Edition,” which unlocks things from other Blizzard games, like the Meat Wagon mount for World of Warcraft.
