Sony Interactive Entertainment has confirmed they’re ending production of PS Vita next year.
The news comes via an interview with Sony Interactive Entertainment senior vice president Hiroyuki Oda and Famitsu, where the Sony boss confirmed they will stop shipping the handheld in 2019.
Beyond that, Oda noted there aref no plans for a successor. It’s worth noting this is the production of the handheld in Japan – however considering they’re ending distribution to one market, the other markets will probably follow soon.
Lastly, Oda confirmed that the 20 games in the recently announced PlayStation Classic will be different from the western version and the Japanese version.
