Next Ys Game in Development, Set After Ys VIII

We’ve learned Falcom is working on the next Ys game.

The news comes via Falcom president Toshihiro Kondo, who talked up the coming sequel in an interview with ActuGaming.

“Regarding the Ys series, we are working on a new game,” Kondo said. “It will not be a remake but a brand new title. It will be about Adol and it will be right after the events of Ys VIII. I hope you will look forward to it.”

The latest game in the series, Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana, was released back in 2016. It was first announced at Sony’s own press conference in September, which they host before every Tokyo Game Show – this year’s Sony presser is set for September 10th. It’s very possible we’ll get a look at the game then.
