While the Sonic the Hedgehog live-action movie is still definitely happening, the production company behind the film, Paramount Pictures, are reportedly (via Deadline) in talks with the legendary actor Jim Carrey to star in the flick.
If signed on, Carrey will star as none-other than the diabolical Dr. Robotnik, now incorrectly referred to as Dr. Eggman. He’ll join previously confirmed stars James Marsden and Tika Sumpter.
The movie is being directed by Jeff Fowler, with Neal Moritz, Mie Onishi and Tim Miller as producers. Details are still a bit scant, however, the report suggests the film’s plot boils down to Robotnik trying to take over the world, only to be confronted by Sonic the Hedgehog.
The Sonic the Hedgehog movie is set to premiere in November of next year.
