Bayonetta 1 and 2 Coming to Nintendo Switch on February 16, 2018

Nintendo has announced both the original Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2 are heading to the Nintendo Switch.

Both games are hitting the hybrid console on February 16th of next year, with the actual package including Bayonetta 2 on a cartridge, and a download code for the original Bayonetta. Both games can naturally be purchased separately, via the eShop.

The new Switch versions of the games include some new features:

  • Local wireless cooperative play – The previously online-only coop Tag Climax is going local! Team up with a friend to take it on – online or off.
  • Amiibo support – Bayonetta 2 for Nintendo Switch will support amiibo, including the Bayonetta amiibo from the Super Smash Bros. series.
  • Video capture support – Record gameplay videos, starting up to thirty seconds before you press the capture button. Share videos from your Switch’s Album to Facebook and Twitter to show the world your skills!

Featured above, you can view new trailer for the new Switch release of both games. Here’s a look at the western box art:

A Japan-only Nintendo Switch hardware bundle was also announced, it includes both original Bayonetta games in a steelbook case, 22 art cards, and three sticker sheets.

The director said he wants to port it, so I’d give about a year or so after all the DLC for XBC2 is out.

I’d assume at least improved resolution and / or frame rate.

Too bad it takes them 2 years to even announce a port. Maybe in 10 years, they’ll finish Bayonetta 3. Then in 20 years, Nintendo will put something else up on virtual console.

That’s like saying it’s literally no reason to own a NES because all the good games are available elsewhere, it’s such a weird statement

Tokyo Mirage Sessions? Smash 4? Pikmin 3? Wind Waker HD? DKC: Tropical Freeze? Mario Maker? Xenoblade Chronicles X?

There are plenty of reasons to own a Wii U… for now (that might change, depending on how many more games make the switch).

TMS isn’t worth it because it was butchered, we all know Smash 4 and Mario Maker are undoubtably coming to the Switch eventually, as for the others… yeah, they’re good games. I agree they’re worth getting a Wii U for (though I don’t doubt DKC, Wind Waker, and evel possibly XCX might get ported later on too).

It can be uncensored, yes? And, sorry, even in its censored state, it’s still a fun game.

Hopefully those frame drops in 2 get ironed out for this release. If not, there’s always CEMU.

Well, if liked it more power to you. Personally the censorship (which even removed pelvic bones from models, because apparently accurrate anatomy is offensive now) was enough to turn me off. As well as a vast majority of people who would have bought the game otherwise. They should have known that the niche that game was marketed for wouldn’t stand by censorship.
