Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition Announced

Beamdog has announced a new version of the classic CRPG Neverwinter Nights.

The new version is naturally called Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition, and it comes with all of the content from the game’s Diamond Edition release, as well as all-new enhanced features. Featured above, you can view the game’s announcement trailer. A release is tentatively “coming soon” across PC, Mac, and Linux.

The Enhanced version of the game includes things like advanced graphic shaders, 4k support, updated translations (French, German, Italian, Polish and Spanish) and the fan community’s most requested bug fixes, alongside familiarity of the Forgotten Realms.

It’s worth pointing out the game is getting a Digital Deluxe bundle, which includes: three of the original premium modules (Pirates of the Sword Coast, Infinite Dungeons, and Wyvern Crown of Cormyr), two soundtracks featuring all of the original music, and a new portrait pack. All of the DLC content will be available separately on Steam.

Here’s a rundown on the game, via Beamdog:

Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition Combines all the content of Neverwinter Nights Diamond Edition with all-new enhanced features. Includes 100+ hours of award-winning adventures and the tools to create your own! Play alone, with a friend, or join up to 64 others online! Step into a fantastical world filled with magic, wonder, and adventure at every turn.

Key Features:
  • Improved Display: Your portrait, combat bar, inventory, and other UI elements adjust in size based on your chosen resolution including 1080p and 4k.
  • Advanced Graphics Options: Pixel shaders and post-processing effects make for crisper, cleaner visuals. Enable contrast, vibrance, and depth of field options as preferred.
  • Community Endorsed: Original developers have teamed with key members of the Neverwinter Nights community to curate important fan-requested improvements to support players, storytellers, and modders.
  • Backwards Compatibility: Works with save games, modules, and mods from the original Neverwinter Nights. A galaxy of community created content awaits.

Just stick to the original one, can get it cheap on gog and it is still lots of fun to play.

Beamdog is cancer, we all know it.

    Wasn’t Neverwinter the pay-to-win game?

If I’m wrong, let me know… but I remember it being disliked for some reason.

Are you thinking of the MMO “Neverwinter?”
Because NWN did not have anything like that.

Great, except I wouldn’t want to give these assholes any sort of money for just making you pay for mods.

That will be in their own terribly made DLC.

Could they make it not suck?

’cause the original game was garbage.

Are they going to enhance the part where the game is utter shit?

Well maybe this means we’ll get a NWN2 EE

Seriously. Biggest Bioware disappointment before Mass Effect 3.

Will Beamdog ever add anything of value to the world?

Also, will the original be removed from gog now?

    >Community Storytellers

Yeah, i love this announcement, but these three things make me weary…
They can do whatever trashy story module they like, no one has to buy that. But please, leave the original content as is. Touch it up, but dont inject your ideological bias into it

We all hoped for one, just… Fucking Beamdog.

Of course you can’t hold your hope out for another dev because D&D is pretty much SJW trash now.

The best part of NWN was NWN2.Of course that’s Obsidian.

That’s Neverwinter. This is Neverwinter Nights, Originally a BioWare title before the EA acquisition.

It doesn’t, but Beamdog’s track record is against them.

While the game wasn’t stellar, my only real complaint with it was the godawful wheel interface.
