Adi Shankar, the creator and producer (Dredd, Punisher: Dirty Laundry, etc) behind the upcoming Castlevania animated series, is working on yet another animated series based on a popular video game franchise – Assassin’s Creed.
The creator announced the project over on Facebook, where he noted Ubisoft approached him to “create an original story set in it as an anime series.”
Shankar also noted how far he’s coming since his debut as a creator: “If anyone tells you not to follow your passion in life they are wrong.”
The interesting thing to note is that Shankar calls the adaptation an “anime” series and not an “animated” series, like the western-animation studio produced Castlevania adaptation. Could this mean we’ll get a new Assassin’s Creed story set within Japan?
This isn’t the first time Assassin’s Creed has been adapted outside of games, however, with the live-action Assassin’s Creed movie starring Michael Fassbender launching earlier this year.
