Hidetaka ‘Swery’ Suehiro, the creator of cult classic hits like Deadly Premonition and D4: Dark Dreams Don’t Die, has left Access Games.

The Japanese creator announced the news on both his English and Japanese Twitter accounts, pointing to the progress he’s made in a year of treatment for his reactive hypoglycemia illness.

“It’s been roughly a year since I started treatment,” Suehiro said in his Japanese tweet. “I have something to report. I, Swery, have stepped down as company director in Access Games as of August 31st, 2016. What? Took a while to reveal?! This is how it went. I’ll announce something later about what I’m doing next. Thank you for your support!”

Finally, Suehiro also tweeted out in English, saying:

“Day 360, Unfortunately I retired from Access Games after all. However Don’t worry, because my health condition is getting be fine. Love you!”

We’ll keep you guys posted once Swery reveals his next endeavor. You better believe he’s still in it to make weird and creepy video games or stories – his most recently penned story has a detective solving mysteries via masturbating.
