Ubisoft Dev Allegedly Involved with Doxing of Female #GamerGate Supporter, No Response or Apology Given

If you haven’t been following the #ZachAttack debacle in which prominent #GamerGate supporter Mombot was targeted by a doxing group, let’s get you caught up a bit.

Mombot posted a Medium piece exposing a staffer at Zoe Quinn’s anti-harassment/abuse hotline, Crash Override Network, named Robert Marmolejo (who goes by the alias @UnseenPerfidy).

This user allegedly sexually harassed 20 different women, while seemingly fighting to stop the very same kind of harassment at the group. After the piece blew up in virality, the aforementioned doxing group banded together in an attempt to reveal Mombot’s identity, in an effort to silence her.

Following this, Mombot led this supposed doxing group herself and with help, fed them false information regarding her identity, history, and so on.

What they didn’t expect was finding Palle Hoffstein, Creative Director at Ubisoft’s Blue Byte studio, among the people ready to dox a person with different views.

Hoffstein posted under the name “27 Inch Garlic Hero” and was seen posting information in the chatlogs fed to him by Mombot and crew. While all of this information was false, the intent to reveal her identity against her will is deeply troubling.

The severity of his involvement with this attempt to dox a female Twitter user even led to him changing aliases numerous times, only to eventually delete his Twitter account entirely. So what gives?

After both Ubisoft and Palle Hoffstein were contacted and offered no response or apology, nearly a month later we’re publicly asking either Ubisoft or Hoffstein to respond or apologize for a textbook example of harassment, among other things. We’ve also reached out to Ubisoft privately for a response.

How do you guys feel about Ubisoft and Hoffstein’s silence on the matter? Sound off in the comments below!
