Konami has announced at Gamescom 2016 (via IGN) what will be the first Metal Gear game after Hideo Kojima’s departure from the company.
Metal Gear Survive will be a 4 player co-op survival game, set right after the ending of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes.
Players will be put in control of the surviving members of Militaires Sans Frontières, who were caught and transported through mysterious wormholes into an inhospitable wasteland, with zombie-like “biological threats” streaking the surface.
No more info is know yet about the game besides what’s seen on the trailer, but Konami plans to reveal more during Gamescom 2016.
But the reception to this announcement has be fairly negative, with several fans and critics confused with the game genre changes, with the trailer seeing a massive number of dislikes.
Metal Gear Survive is planned to be released for PC, Xbox One and PS4 in 2017.
