After almost a year since it was announced that it would be coming to the PS Vita, the Twitch Vita app has finally made it’s way to the Sony handheld.
The Twitch app will allow users to watch live streams as well as past broadcasts as well as interact with the chat.
Unlike the PS4 version, Vita users will not be able to stream games directly from their handheld, a feature many people will miss. Another weird design omission is as of writing this, the app does not make use of the touchscreen.
You can download right now on the Playstation Store.

July 5, 2016 at 1:42 pmCool beans, now I can watch Twitch while I’m taking a deuce.

July 5, 2016 at 1:45 pmActually pretty neat. Very glad the Vita still gets attention, I still miss the old Youtube app.

July 5, 2016 at 1:54 pm“I still miss the old Youtube app”
I miss it as well, I used it regularly and I was disappointed they removed that feature. The internet browser for youtube works but the app was more convenient and intuitive.

July 5, 2016 at 2:04 pmAlright, I guess. I wouldn’t have expected this to come to Vita, cool for those who want it though.

July 5, 2016 at 2:06 pmAny word on this working with PSTV? It would be nice to watch Twitch on my TV.

July 5, 2016 at 2:31 pmBroken GPU? There’s hundreds of games that are playable on the Vita. Looking at my Vita right now I got Ragnarok Odyssey Ace, Senran Kagura SV, Valkyrie Drive, SFxTK, Valhalla Knights 3, Persona 4 Golden, Senran Kagura EV, Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus, Gundam Breaker 3, Neptunia Re:Birth2, and that’s not even counting the Playstation classics and PSP games.

July 5, 2016 at 2:36 pmI see they’ve also released a Twitch app for PS3, that’s cool. Twitch has been broken on the PS3 for ages.

July 5, 2016 at 2:43 pmNow I can not play games, and instead watch other people play games on my gaming device on the go! Huzzah!
Whenever I use Twitch, I just have it on in the background usually while I am doing something else (like actually playing games myself). It is nice that there is an additional option for the service, I suppose.

July 5, 2016 at 2:48 pmShould work just fine on PSTV.

July 5, 2016 at 3:10 pmHe’s right that there is a big amount of titles tho it’s mostly imports if you dont want to deal with any of the localizations. I would say VNs too but those arent games.
I disagree with him however with using a Vita for PSP/PSOne titles tho, not until it’s CFW’ed

July 5, 2016 at 3:14 pmOh I don’t disagree, my own Vita library is pretty big and 90% imports lol.
Just sayin’ he fell for the bait pretty hard.

July 5, 2016 at 3:21 pmOh yeah the halfchan-tier bait
Cant say I blame people for not picking it up unless you read moonrunes and have disposable income

July 5, 2016 at 3:25 pmThat’s cool, but I’d preferred the option to stream. It would’ve been the easiest way to capture video from the Vita.

July 5, 2016 at 3:29 pmI think the omission of the touchscreen is so you can use it on the PS TV

July 5, 2016 at 3:37 pm>No touchscreen
>No streaming
Then there’s no reason for me to support it.

July 5, 2016 at 4:24 pmSurprised it actually released on vita

July 5, 2016 at 8:23 pmI couldn’t care less about Twitch but it’s nice to see Sony add an app to Vita with an update instead of just take stuff away.
Luka ?( ▀ ͜͞ʖ▀?)
July 6, 2016 at 1:17 pmI knew it wouldn’t stream, but that was all I cared about. I can see Twitch on anything else. Oh well.

July 6, 2016 at 3:35 pmu own a vita for western “games”? (most of them don’t even deserve to be called games excluding some very few indies)
c’mon dude embrace your inner weebness

July 7, 2016 at 12:39 amWhy would you expect streaming?
DDD-kun
July 7, 2016 at 10:56 amTech should be readily-present in the Vita iirc, and Twitch is a service primarily for streaming and viewing as an alternative to Youtube.
