We’ve learned that Eternal Darkness spiritual successor Shadow of the Eternals is still alive, according to its creator, Denis Dyack.
Speaking in a new video update on his YouTube channel “The Quantum Tunnel,” Dyack confirmed the game is alive and seemingly in active development.
“Those people who are concerned the game is dead, don’t be, it’s not dead,” said Dyack in the video update.
“We’re determined, we’re moving forward, and we have made some great progress,” said Dyack. “We just can’t talk about it yet.” Dyack continued: “Remember we’re doing film, television, and video games now. So we’re taking on more, and at the same time, these deals take a long time to put together.”
Finally, Dyack teased future announcements for the game. “We do have some announcements coming in the future that we’re super excited about.”
Denis Dyack formed a new cross-media studio to develop TV shows, games, and movies in the form of Quantum Entanglement Entertainment – Shadow of the Eternals is one of their current projects.
Shadow of the Eternals was originally planned for a release on the Wii U, and amidst two failed Kickstarters, was vastly panned by the mainstream gaming press. You can read more about Denis Dyack’s story in our two part interview on questionable journalism, Shadow of the Eternals, and more.
