CyberConnect2 is Opening a Development Studio in Montreal

CC2-Fami-Furage_03-10-15

We’ve learned (via an interview with Famitsu, via Hachima) that CyberConnect2 is opening a development studio in Montreal, Canada.

Hiroshi Matsuyama, the CEO and company president of CyberConnect2 went into more detail about the new Montreal based studio:

It’s a complete development studio […] We’re in the midst of worldwide developments, and I thought ‘we might need some blue-eyed samurai?’ about our first phase of expanding outside. I believe there are still many foreigners that would like to have a shot at Japanese-style creativity.

Sure, lets see how this turns out. Maybe have some marketing to your games as well: https://youtu.be/aLR5JCyKPlI

Maybe it’s a studio that’ll work on the English translation for the Final Fantasy VII remake. I really wish for another game in the Little Tail Bronx series though.

To be blunt: the game sold dick possibly due to poor marketing and release in 2000 near the PS2 launch might have done so (20k sales as of 2016? You off your rocker). Game is good.

Well shit, no wonder I never heard of it. Poor marketing usually results in this.

“We might need some blue-eyed samurai” is an unreasonably cool way to describe rounding up some nerds in Quebec.

Where else in Canada can you even say the typical White Aryan to be the majority besides empty tundras?

At least they’re expanding rather than laying people off.
