The apocalypse is upon us – Microsoft has announced cross network play between Xbox One and Windows 10, and by extension, non-Microsoft platforms such as PlayStation 4.
This is all being handled via Xbox Live, enabling developers to finally make it possible for gamers across all platforms to play together, in a cohesive experience.
One of the first games to support this is the stupidly popular Rocket League, with developer Psyonix announcing they’re working on bringing cross-network play on Xbox One and PC sometime later this spring, with “other platforms” coming soon.
